What are these bumps on the back of my arm?

If I had a dime for everytime I’ve been asked this question.  The answer is KP – Keratosis Pilaris, a genetic disorder that effects 40 percent of the population and causes dead skin cells to slough off slower than normal.  The cells then build up and clog your hair follicles which leads to inflamation and the red or white bumps.  Though KP  is a chronic condition which is sometimes outgrown, you can lessen its intensity.  Body washes with salicylic acid or glycolic acid can help your skin shed those cells quicker.  Follow up with a moisturizer.  At Glow, I can treat you with an enzyme or in extreme cases a chemical peel on the affected areas.  For severe cases, check with your dermatologist first.
